Three Democratic Candidates for Town Council

Meghan Casey

I am happy to announce my candidacy for re-election to the Yarmouth Town Council.
It has been a privilege to serve Yarmouth residents on the Council. During my time on Council, I have learned that some of the best ideas come from people whose point of view is different from mine, that creating a town budget is a heart-wrenching process of trying to balance Yarmouth’s values with Yarmouth’s needs, and that the most important tool a town can have is an exceptional, dedicated staff that go far above and beyond for our town (…and boy do we have that!).
But the most important thing I have learned is this: small town government only works when we all assume the best intentions of each other. There is so much pressure in the world dividing us when, in fact, we agree on far more than we disagree. The media (social and traditional) and political candidates at every level pressure us to find fault with each other, to not just disagree but to dislike opponents, and to assume the worst about each other. But division is only a distraction from the work that needs to be done. We in Yarmouth have a lot of work to do and I am running to continue that important work.
As a Councilor, I will continue to focus on making Yarmouth more affordable while maintaining and improving the services we all value. I will work to create affordable housing, to find solutions to the tax burden that falls disproportionately on homeowners, and to support our stellar schools.
A little about me. I teach Latin at Yarmouth High School (go Clippers!). My husband, Chuck Parker, and I have lived in Yarmouth for 24 years (well, I have, Chuck grew up in town so has lived here….longer than 23 years ). We raised our three daughters in town and in our Yarmouth schools. In my free time  I enjoy reading, travel, and sailing our old but lovely sailboat around Casco Bay.
I look forward to talking with many of you during this campaign and hope I can count on your vote on Tuesday, June 9 (voting at Yarmouth High from 6AM-8PM).

Dan Landry

I am running for a seat on the Yarmouth Town Council on June 9, 2026. I am a native Mainer and have lived in Yarmouth for more than 30 years. My wife, Deborah, and I raised our two sons here. I love everything Maine has to offer, and I believe Yarmouth is the quintessential Maine town—from its downtown, to its harbor and islands.

As a town councilor, my primary focus will be keeping Yarmouth affordable for all who choose to live here. I have spent my career caring for the people of Maine—especially our children—as a pediatric anesthesiologist. I also bring extensive leadership experience, having served for 10 years as president of the largest private medical group in the state. In addition, I hold a master’s degree in economics from the London School of Economics.

I believe I have the experience and temperament to represent you effectively on the Town Council. I welcome the opportunity to listen, learn, and discuss the issues that matter most to you.

Jenn Monti

Hello! My name is Jennifer Monti and I have decided to run for Town Council.

As a town councilor, my primary focus will be to ensure affordability and health are at the center of our work. I am particularly interested in responsible investments to ensure the built environment we all share – roads, parks, water systems, schools, sidewalks- are well tended so we thrive long into the future. I spend my professional time as a cardiologist and data scientist; I am built with a listening ear and an eye for data, and will bring these sensibilities to town council work.

I spend my personal time running around with two kids and volunteering as a coach in town (instructional baseball Tuesday nights!) I love the West Side trail, Lotso Taco, infrastructure, Royal River Books, Uconn basketball, Fenway Park, and nights the library is open until 7.

Look forward to connecting with many of you over the next few weeks. If you would like to connect I can be reached at jennifer.monti@gmail.com.
